Lenticular Printing
The term Lenticular refers to a printing process in which a lens is used to produce images with an illusion of depth, motion, or animation as the image is viewed from different angles.
The first step in lenticular design is to choose the effect that best suits your graphic or the message you are trying to communicate. Some of the most popular effects include animation, flip and 3D.
Animation: lenticular effect which gives the sense of motion, common types include morph, zoom and rotation
Flip: lenticular effect where the picture changes from one image to another, typical flip is between 2 images, but not exceeding 3 images, images should contain similar colors and layout to achieve optimal results
3D: lenticular effect which gives the illusion of depth and dimension, layered files allow you to "see around" objects in the foreground
The special effects of 3D and image animation grab attention by creating depth and perspective, and can provide other effects such as leaping out, transitioning and transforming.
A great way to showcase lenticular imagery is to enlarge it. Make a big statement by captivating consumers with a 3D or animated poster or sign. By promoting your message, product, or features in a larger format, you are sure to jump out at your target audience and grab their attention.
